Vaudeville on Film--Program I & 2

Anthony Slide, film historian and author of the recently published "The Vaudevillians," introduces two programs of film clips of some of American vaudeville's greatest entertainers. Included on the bill are Burns and Allen, Pat Rooney, Joseph E. Howard, Clark and McCullough, Rudy Vallee, Ken Murray, Ella Shields, Fanny Brice, the Duncan Sisters, Van and Schenck, Frances Williams, Fred Allen, and Eddie Cantor. Singers, dancers, comedians, and even male impersonators are included in a program which illustrates that, though the motion picture may have killed vaudeville, it also ensured that it could continue to live forever.
