Violet Perfume is one of Maryse Sistach's most provocative works. Set in a Mexico City of punk rock, pink hair-dye, and no-future youth, and based on a true incident, the film follows the unlikely friendship between two high school girls, and what happens after one is raped. As their friendship blossoms, Yessica's thuggish brother comes up with a deadly plan, one aided by his violent rapist friend and distressingly unheard by both parents and teachers.
