Volcano: An Inquiry into the Life and Death of Malcolm Lowry
Malcolm Lowry was the author of “Under the Volcano,” a 1947 novel which has become recognized as a major literary achievement. As this film inquiry into Lowry's life and death shows, much of the novel was based on his own painful experience. An alcoholic, he suffered physical degradation and spiritual torment, but his one great work of genius survived his self-destructiveness. With passages from the novel read by Richard Burton.
