A Well Spent Life

This evening features three of Les Blank's cinematic portraits of musicians that uncover not only three distinct musical styles but also three authentic modes of living. A Well Spent Life is a moving portrait of legendary Texas blues songster and guitarist Mance Lipscomb. Featuring Lipscomb's life-affirming views on love, music, and human comradeship, this encounter between the bluesman's peaceful rural life and Blank's graceful and tender filmmaking makes for a well-spent evening.
