"Although rediscovered over ten years ago, this lovely early Walsh talkie has received neither the recognition nor even the exhibition it deserves. Based on Bret Harte's 'Salomy Jane's Kiss,' it is both a tender and an exciting piece of Americana, with a particularly novel (and never repeated) optical narrative device better seen than described.
