Recommended for ages 7+. Eight-year-old Maria is often irritated with her younger brother. Believing her friend Makka has a magic crystal ball, Maria makes the mistake of wishing her brother would disappear. When Maria gets sick and her parents find a new babysitter, the mysterious Gerda, the girls are convinced that she is a witch sent to make Maria's wish come true. Adventures ensue as the two fight to save Maria's brother.
