"In between Hollywood and Germany, Pola Negri made this curious, moody, late British silent (fitted with music and effects) on the island of Jersey. Alternately known as Wanted and Street of Forgotten Souls, it is a bravura showcase for the tempestuous Pola. Titles (very few of them) are in French, but they're virtually unnecessary and the introductory comments will clarify key plot elements. Reputedly, E.A. Dupont assisted in the direction." William K.
