Works from the Eisner Prize Competition

Introduced by Mark Berger
Artists in Person

The Eisner Prize is the highest award for creativity given on the UC Berkeley campus. This program presents work by this year's winners in film and video, Katelyn Stiles and Jonathan T. Wang, along with a diverse sampling of videos from the competition-narratives, documentaries, experimental videos, and animations. Stiles's Moving Self and Other is a beautiful dance video, which focuses our attention on the body's movement while encouraging us to see gestures anew. Wang's Free Camp provides five portraits of people living at the Albany landfill, taking us into their living spaces and their lives. A program with written descriptions by the artists will be available at the screening.

This year's judges were UC Berkeley staff and faculty Mark Berger, Marilyn Fabe, Kathy Geritz, Mira Kopell, Russell Merritt, and Gavriel Moses. Thanks to Jimmy Ausemus, prizes and honors coordinator.
