A World in Flux: Lawrence Rinder & Malcolm Margolin in Conversation
BAM/PFA Director Lawrence Rinder and noted publisher Malcolm Margolin engage in a wide-ranging dialogue about art and culture. They will discuss the role of imagination in social change, and the past, present, and future of the arts in California. Margolin is the founder and executive director of Heyday Books, an independent nonprofit publisher and cultural institution in Berkeley, and author/editor of eight books, including The Ohlone Way: Indian Life in the San Francisco-Monterey Bay Area.
Margolin is the founder and executive director of Heyday Books, an independent nonprofit publisher and cultural institution in Berkeley. He is the author/editor of eight books, including The Ohlone Way: Indian Life in the San Francisco-Monterey Bay Area, named by the San Francisco Chronicle as one of the hundred most important books of the twentieth century by a western writer. In 2001, he cofounded Bay Nature, a nonprofit quarterly magazine focused on the natural world of the San Francisco Bay Area.
