Director G. Aravindan is the son of Govinda Nair, a well-known humorist in Malayalam literature. A man of many talents, Aravindan is a graduate in science, a painter, a cartoonist, a classical musician (he wrote the score for V.K. Pavitran's recent film, Yaro Oral), and one of the pioneers of a leading theater group which promotes folk and classical theater. He is presently a governmental advisor in the field of rubber plantations. Aravindan's other films include Uttarayanam (Throne of Capricorn), 1974; and Kanchana Sita (Golden Sita), 1977. All of his films have won Indian National and State awards.
