Goodbye, Boys
A lyricalview of the younger generation (including a trip to the cinema to see The Youth of Maxim), Goodbye, Boyswas made during the last years of the "thaw" and is a valuable addition to our view of the sixties NewWave. Director Mikhail (Moshe) Kalik, who spent many years in Stalin's labor camps, became one of themost promising new Soviet filmmakers before censorship and anti-Semitism drove him to emigrate toIsrael in 1971.
