The Show Must Go On: New From Canyon Cinema
Personal cinema, avant-garde, underground, or experimental film--call it what you will, San Francisco's Canyon Cinema is one of the longest running cooperative distribution centers for this "other" cinema. Canyon's seventh catalog, due out in June, is its 25th Anniversary issue. Our two programs are selected from new deposits to Canyon--works recently completed, and older works new to the co-op. Left Handed Memories by Michele Fleming (1989, 15 mins). Later Later Dutch Master Later by Saul Levine (1.5 mins, Silent, super-8mm). And The Show Must Go On by Jerry Orr (1989, 8 mins, 18fps, super-8mm). Feel the Fear by Mary Filippo (1990, B&W, 24 mins). 31/75--Asylum (Asyl) by Kurt Kren (1975, 9 mins, Silent). An Individual Desires Solution by Lawrence Brose (1986, B&W, 16 mins, super-8mm). Glimpse of the Garden by Marie Menken (1957, 5 mins). A Different Kind of Green by Thad Povey (1989, 6 mins). She/Va by Marjorie Keller (1973, 3 mins, Silent).
