This memorial program has been made possible through the support of the Estate Project for Artists with AIDS, which supported the preservation of these Sonbert films. Amphetamine (Sonbert, Wendy Appel, 1966, 10 mins), an early tour de force of sixties counterculture. A Woman's Touch (Sonbert, 1983, 23 mins), an evolution from in-camera editing to montage strategy. The Tenth Legion (Sonbert, 1967, 25 mins): Sonbert observes his characters with a studied detachment. Whiplash (Sonbert, completed by Jeff Scher, 1995/1997, 20 mins): Sonbert explores the legacy of values by which he intended to be remembered, most importantly that of love. Warren (Jeff Scher, 1992, 3 mins): Scher turns the tables on his former teacher and mentor.
