The Lost World
Recommended for ages 7+. Many people think Steven Spielberg was the first to immortalize dinosaurs on screen, but before The Lost World: Jurassic Park came the original The Lost World. Though predating the pyrotechnics and animatronics that characterize action films of the nineties, this classic silent version is no less exciting or entertaining. In true Godzilla fashion, the "live action" dinosaurs roam the earth with typical ferocity while overly ambitious humans try to capture them for their own curiosity and entertainment. Based on a story by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, this is a rare screening not to be missed by dinosaur enthusiasts of any size! To accommodate younger children, the intertitles will be read aloud at this screening. (Note: The film screens again at 6:00 in our regular evening program.)
