Dreamspeaker

After our sell-out showing last August of Claude Jutra's Dreamspeaker, we received many requests to bring back this remarkably sensitive and powerful film about an emotionally disturbed boy and an old Indian shaman who tries to free him from the horrors in his mind. For a brief moment the boy finds peace in the ancient world of the Pacific Northwest Indians. But the idyllic hiatus is brought to an abrupt end in a shattering, brutal climax which reinforces the Dreamspeaker's words: “There are evil spirits in the world, and the white man's science can do nothing against them.”
