No Regrets For Our Youth (Waga seishun ni kui nashi) --POSTPONED TO MAY 12. SUBSTITUTE: The Most Beautiful (Ichiban utsukushiku) and Lightning (Inazuma)

Made immediately after World War II, Kurosawa's film is concerned with academic freedom. Based upon the Takikawa incident of 1933 and the Sorge spy case which forced Professor Takikawa to resign from the faculty of Kyoto University for his “communistic thought,” the film centers around the professor's daughter and her fight against the political and social pressure to which she was subjected by Japanese society.
