The Twelve Chairs

Following the San Francisco Film Festival premiere of The Survivors on Friday October 12, and the afternoon tribute to Cuba's leading director on the 13th at the Palace of Fine Arts, we are honored to be able to present all of the features of Tomas Gutierrez Alea currently in distribution in this country in a series beginning with his second feature, The Twelve Chairs, a very Cuban, and very funny adaptation of the famous satiric Russian novel by Ilf and Petrov. Never before shown in this country, it is, alas, available only in a French-subtitled copy.
