520 In the third in the Monsieur Hulot trilogy, the bemused
Frenchman tries in vain to maintain an appointment in an
urban landscape of glass and steel. A group of American
tourists arrive in Paris, only to find its mass of
skyscrapers and office blocks indistinguishable from those
of any other big city. Whenever the path of Monsieur Hulot
(Tati) crosses that of the group as everyone copes with
modern life, comedy ensues.
