The image of a clock remains in the upper right corner of the frame throughout the film, counting down the seconds and minutes to thirty minutes sounding a beep on the minute. The film is divided into one minute segments, alternating between two men and a woman (on the audio track only) playing a game of guessing the names of boats seen on the screen, with found and staged footage of leisure activities. Early in the film, the woman's voice describes the purpose of the film and the clock and upcoming scenes, promoting anticipation on the viewer's part. She controls the name game's progress by guiding the men through their guesses. The film plays with time within a timed structure; for example, a dog's bark is looped, but is heard only a few times. The appropriated footage includes scenes from Dreyer's Joan of Arc, Greta Garbo, and bad dance and hulu movies; the staged footage includes images of cooking franks and beans. At the end, the filmmaker is seen riding a bicycle, shot through a fish eye lens; he falls off the bike. A man is then shown in negative.
