New York: Oxford University Press, 1979,|cp. 348 520 Re-edited found footage of home movies of children's parties and children's educational films. The film begins with the title "The end" printed upside down. A window opens, showing star constellations in the night sky. This footage is from a children's film for learning star constellations. There are occasional intertitles in English. From this film, Cornell moves to footage from children's parties. Children bob for apples and watch acrobats and magic acts. Some of these sections are re- printed in slow motion or freeze-framed. At times, sprocket holes are visible. The children then imitate adults, forming a chorus line and dancing. At the end, a child with long hair seated on a magical white horse appears against a starry background, perhaps a symbol for the magic of childhood. Some of the party footage in this film was used to make Cornell's film Cotillion. 590 PFA 1604-01-3098. |aCONDITION NOTE: Last inspected: 19 Sept 1992; leader; scratches; Good condition: scratches, some continuous; no splices; needs head leader CONDITION NOTE: Last inspected: 2003/12/19 Good condition; light to fair emulsion scratches throughout; film is slightly warped and shrunken 650 0 Children in motion pictures. 655 7 Shorts.|2mim 655 7 Personal/independent films.|2mim 690 U.S. films 700 1 Cornell, Joseph. 700 1 Jordan, Larry E.,|d1947- 935 GLADN50874434 946 PFA 1604-01-3098.
