Schumacher ; music, Konrad Bernhard. 520 Travelogue of the city of Rothenburg including views of the walls and architectural features including lengthy footage of the Holy Blood reredos by Tilman Riemenschneider in St. James Church. The historical festival play, The master draught" is featured which celebrates an event that took place in 1631 during the Thirty Years War. Every Whitsun this event is recreated when hundreds of citizens dress up in period costume and take part in the play, as well as a historical procession and a variety of military camps. Also featured is the Shepherd's Dance. Even in the Middle Ages, sheep farming and the wool trade played an important part in the life of the town. In 1517 the Shepherds Guild was granted the privilege of celebrating Shepherds Dance with music and dancing. In remembrance of this custom, every year, visitors have several opportunities to see the dance of the colorful couples in the market square. 546 Narrated in English. 590 PFA 1608-01-3053. |aCONDITION NOTE: Last checked: 2011/06/ 08 Many splices; scratched. 650 0 Sculpture, Medieval|zGermany|zRothenburg ob der Tauber. 650 0 Historical reenactments|zGermany|zRothenburg ob der Tauber. 650 0 Folk dancing|zGermany|zRothenburg ob der Tauber. 651 0 Rothenburg ob der Tauber (Germany)|xDescription and travel. 655 7 Shorts.|2mim 655 7 Travelogues.|2mim 655 7 Documentaries and factual works.|2mim 690 German films. 700 1 Schumacher, E.M.,|ecamera/lighting. 700 1 Bernhard, Konrad,|emusic. 710 1 RVD Atlantic Films. 710 2 German Railroads Information Office. 946 PFA 1608-01-3053.
