Crossing histories, regions, and ages, the radio, in Vijay's view, has "the power to turn the psyche and society into a single echo chamber." Like an errant transmission, this keenly configured work criss-crosses stories like a flick of the dial: here a female singer prevented from singing live at the station, there a lonely housewife who alleviates her husband's absence with the sound of AM; a DJ calling out, a child prodigy from the forties who impersonated the female voice. "Radio here is a liberal instrument, it might be your extended organ, it can move with you, it is transparent as a dream, an oral dream."-- Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive program note, July 20, 2006. 538 DVCAM 541 0 |3PFA 0505-01-13292. |aD0465 |cdonation |d 2/29/2008 |5CBPF 546 In Hindi with English subtitles. 650 0 Radio broadcasting|zIndia. 650 0 Radio programs|zIndia. 650 0 Radio|xSocial aspects|zIndia. 655 7 Documentary films.|2lcgft 655 7 Feature films.|2lcgft 690 Indian films. 700 0 Vipin Vijay,|edirector,|escreenwriter. 700 1 Majumdar, Tukinabha ,|escreenwriter. 700 1 Ganguly, Debkamal,|eeditor of moving image work. 956 20160209 |bpfmcq|cCO 957 OCLC xref loaded 20160327 994 C0|bCUY
