Nathalie’s unspoken grief, fear, and anger are buried so deeply beneath her cool, rational façade that she herself seems unaware of them. By depicting the moments between life’s ruptures and the gaps between the expressed and the unspoken, Hansen-Løve makes space for her protagonist’s ordeal to resonate all the more.
