The fall of 1973 was spent in preparation for this momentous occasion, a celebration of the Eternal Network that took place in the splendid ballroom of the former Elk's Lodge on MacArthur Park in Hollywood. Susan Subtle, Les Petits Bonbons, John Jack Baylin, John Dowd, Irene Dogmatic, Anna Banana, Victor Coleman, Andy Graffiti and a host of correspondence artists from across North America appeared for the ritual celebration of Art's 1,000, 011th Birthday and Mail Art Awards Ceremony. The stage show, a parody of the Academy Awards, featured a male chorus resplendent in tuxedos and Shark Fin Bathing Caps moving in stately symmetry to the inimitable crooning of andogyne Pascal. It could be said to mark the peak of the mail art movement, and for many signalled the end of it. Copiously documented on film, video, and in print." -- Western Front website,|uhttp://front.nfshost.com/ performanceart/events/1916 534 |pElectronic reproduction of (manifestation) :|t[Art's stars in Hollywood : the Deccadance -- excerpt].|c[San Francisco?] : [Ant Farm], [1974]|e1 videoreel of 1 (15 min., 47 sec.) : sound, black and white ; 1/2 in. 538 Digital Betacam NTSC 541 0 |3PFA 0504-121-15993. |a D0121 |c deposit |d 2014/04/14 |5CBPF 580 BAVC digital preservation remaster from 1/2" open reel videotape. 650 0 Mail art. 655 7 Experimental films.|2lcgft 700 1 Lord, Chip,|edirection,|eproduction,|ecamera/lighting. 700 1 Williams, Megan,|edirection,|eproduction,|ecamera/ lighting. 700 1 Sharp, Willoughby,|edirection,|eproduction. 700 1 Darling, Lowell,|eproduction. 700 1 Morris, Michael,|d1942-|eperformer. 700 1 Bronson, AA,|d1946-|eperformer. 700 1 Metcalfe, Eric,|d1940-|eperformer. 700 1 Tarasoff, Vincent,|eperformer. 710 2 Ant Farm (Design group),|eproduction company. 710 2 Western Front (Society),|eproduction company. 710 2 Image Bank (Firm),|eproduction company. 710 2 General Idea (Firm),|eproduction company. 776 08 |iElectronic reproduction of (manifestation) :|t[Art's stars in Hollywood : the Deccadance -- excerpt].|d[San Francisco?] : [Ant Farm], [1974]|h1 videoreel of 1 (15 min., 47 sec.) : sound, black and white ; 1/2 in. 956 20170913 |bpfmcq|cCCE 957 OCLC xref loaded 20170924 994 C0|bCUY
