520 The U.S. blockade of Cuba covers more than trade. At the
10th Central American and Caribbean Games held in Puerto
Rico in 1966, the U.S. tried, unsuccessfully, to stop the
Cubans from participating. The film starts aboard the
Cerro Pelado (the boat carrying the Cubans to Puerto Rico)
with the athletes insisting on their right to play in the
games and shows beautiful scenes of training sessions. The
Cubans are allowed to participate and in exciting slow
motion sequences, they defeat contestants one after
another.
