Band captures the humor and pathos of the underdogs of middle-class suburbia : the high school team band. W.A.T.T.S.: we are taught to survive gains unmitigated access to the peace treaty signed by rival gangs in South Central L.A. and the ongoing struggles for a peaceful community. Switch on Bhutan points to the diverse implications of media as it tracks the entry of TV and the Internet in Bhutan. The wolf: Filmmaker Peter Nicks courageously examines his own story of drug addiction and the complex nature of addiction. Through interviews with family, friends, the federal agent who arrested him, his judge, lawyer, probation officer and others, Nicks explores issues of adoption, race, privilege, influential friendships and family tensions. 538 VHS. 590 AVMC; VIDEO/C 8776: RESTRICTED: May not be checked out of MRC 590 AVMC; DVD 7770: Preservation copy 590 PFA 0500-01-11932. |aCOPY-SPECIFC DESCRIPTION: 2 videocassettes of 2 (151 min.) : sd., col. and b&w ; 1/2 in. |aCONDITION NOTE: Last checked: 2007/10/02 610 20 University of California, Berkeley|xStudents|xAttitudes. 650 0 Documentary films|zCalifornia|zBerkeley. 650 0 Step dancing. 650 0 African American college students|xDancing. 650 0 African American college students|xRace identity. 650 0 African American dance. 650 0 Greek letter societies|zUnited States. 650 0 Bands (Music)|xSocial aspects. 650 0 Gangs|zCalifornia|zLos Angeles. 650 0 Conflict management|zCalifornia|zLos Angeles. 650 0 Television broadcasting|xSocial aspects|zBhutan. 650 0 Internet|xSocial aspects|zBhutan. 650 0 Mass media|xSocial aspects|zBhutan. 650 0 Teenagers|xDrug use|zUnited States|vCase studies. 650 0 Drug addicts|zUnited States|vBiography. 650 0 Recovering addicts|zUnited States|vBiography. 655 7 Shorts.|2mim 655 7 Documentaries and factual works.|2mim 690 Student films. 700 1 Aroy, Marcie. 700 1 Oden, Beverley. 700 1 Brooks, Amy L. 700 1 Scott, Amy. 700 1 Adams, Richard Charles. 700 1 Bloom, Alexis. 700 1 Dendup, Tshewang. 700 1 Nicks, Peter. 710 2 University of California, Berkeley.|bGraduate School of Journalism. 740 02 Step show: portrait of a black fraternity. 740 02 Band. 740 02 W.A.T.T.S.: we are taught to survive. 740 02 Switch on Bhutan. 740 02 Wolf. 935 GLADN84572701 941 0 PFA 0500-01-11932.
