South African rule-the black population has been relegated
to arid "homelands" where they can find neither food nor
work, the average lifespan is 31 years, and more than half
of all black children die before age five. Shows the
rituals and myths of the affluent white settler society.
Explains that the multinational corporations, which
extract Namibia's strategic mineral reserves of copper,
diamonds and uranium, are at the economic base of the
country. How white interansigence has led to support for
SWAPO, the South West Africa People's Organization, as
Namibians begin to fight for their freedom.
