Whether they are authored by immigrants themselves or by white Europeans who use the resources and means of production of dominant cinema to politically engage with the immigrants' predicaments, these films, Isolina Ballesteros shows, are unmappable--a condition resulting from immigration cinema's recombination and deliberate blurring of filmic conventions pertaining to two or more genres. In an age of globalization and increased migration, this book theorizes immigration cinema in relation to notions such as gender, hybridity, transculturation, border crossing, transnationalism, and translation. 648 7 1990-talet|2sao 648 7 Sekelskiftet 2000|2sao 650 0 Emigration and immigration in motion pictures. 650 0 Motion pictures|zEurope|xHistory. 650 0 Immigrants in motion pictures. 650 7 Emigration and immigration in motion pictures.|2fast |0(OCoLC)fst00908733 650 7 Immigrants in motion pictures.|2fast|0(OCoLC)fst01903569 650 7 Motion pictures.|2fast|0(OCoLC)fst01027285 650 7 Film.|0(DE-588)4017102-4|2gnd 650 7 Einwanderung.|0(DE-588)4457569-5|2gnd 650 7 Émigration et immigration|xAu cinéma.|2ram 650 7 Cinéma|zEurope|xHistoire et critique.|2ram 650 7 Utvandrare på film, Europa.|2sfit 650 7 Invandrare på film, Europa.|2sfit 650 7 Invandrare i filmen.|2sao 651 7 Europe.|2fast|0(OCoLC)fst01245064 651 7 Europa.|0(DE-588)4015701-5|2gnd 651 7 Europe.|2ram 655 7 History.|2fast|0(OCoLC)fst01411628 935 .o17751032 956 20160825|bPRVY 956 20171025|bpfmcq|cMC 957 OCLC xref loaded 20171105 994 92|bCUY
