520 A tour of a narrow-gauge railroad. Film begins with
footage of streetcars in San Francisco in 1905. Then in
Oakland, California we board a diesel train, the
California Zephyr, headed for Colorado. We pass through
Feather River Canyon, Quincey, California and the no. 8
short line, deserts in Nevada and Utah, the Great Salt
Lake, Salt Lake City and then disembark in Durango,
Colorado. Here we board the old narrow gauge railroad, the
Denver and Rio Grande, and travel to Silverton, Colorado
for old West re-enactments.
