When Barton warns him of the dangerous nature of the experiments, the man declares himself to be a murderer who is able to withstand anything (0-130 ft.) -- Commercial for Winston cigarettes (131-166 ft.) -- The murderer, Paul Cheever, explains that he was an army platoon leader who left some tired men in his platoon behind one day. These men later died in an avalanche, and Cheever was court martialed and discharged for his actions. Cheever's estranged wife visits Barton's office to dissuade Cheever from participating, but Cheever refuses to talk to her. During the experiment, Cheever hallucinates that he sees his wife on television, so he kicks in the screen. After setting a 161-hour record for sleeplessness, Cheever escapes (167-437 ft.) -- Commercial for Acrilan fabric (438-475 ft.) -- Cheever appears at his wife's residence with a gun, babbling incoherently about a car accident and his sister. After begging his wife to admit he's at fault for the death of the men, an agitated Cheever forces her to accompany him on a drive. Cheever wrecks the car and drags his wife on foot to the avalanche site. Finally, Cheever is reunited with his devoted wife (476-929 ft.) -- 520 Promotional spot for Winston cigarettes starring George Nader, who suggests giving Winstons as Christmas gifts. Nader shows a special Winston 2-carton pack that folds into a Christmas house for children (930-966 ft.) -- Preview of next week's episode, involving a woman's suicide attempt (966-976 ft.). 590 PFA 1612-01-3908. |aCONDITION NOTE: Last checked: June 17, 2002, slightly warped. 650 0 Sleep deprivation. 650 0 Psychological tests. 650 0 Veterans. 655 7 Television.|2mim 655 7 Medical drama.|2mim 655 7 Commercials.|2mim 700 1 Lang, Otto,|d1908-2006. 700 1 Tors, Ivan. 700 1 Wonder, Joe. 700 1 Brinkley, Don. 700 1 Askins, Monroe. 700 1 Collis, Jack T. 700 1 Thompson, Charles. 700 1 Barker, Warren. 700 1 Tischler, Stanford. 700 1 Lincoln, Al. 700 1 Nader, George. 700 1 McCarthy, Lin. 700 1 Allison, Jean. 700 1 Maxwell, Charles. 700 1 Zaremba, John. 700 1 Tabor, Alton. 700 1 Raines, Bob. 700 1 Sheriff, Paul. 700 1 Applewhite, Eric. 710 2 ZIV Television (Firm) 710 2 R.J.
