"The films of Oskar Fischinger," in Film culture, no. 58-60 (1974),|cp. 91-93 520 The title R1 appears enclosed in a circle, setting the iconic tone for the opening of the film. Earth, orbs, and globes are intercut with piston-like images (staffs; Fischinger referred to these as Orgelstäbe, or "organ pipes"). Continuing in the creation metaphor, images of fire, a stylized sun, melting wax, and galaxies appear, quickly cut together. In the second section, the marching and moving staffs reappear, but tinted. 534 |pOriginally on|e35 mm. nitrate stock. 590 PFA 1604-01-795. |aCONDITION NOTE: Last inspected: 19 Sept 1992; splices; scratches; pink; sprockets; Good condition: small scratches, one continuous scratch; the "three" films on the reel are cement spliced together, with leader spliced between; two cement splices within the 2d section and two in 3d section, totalling eight cement splices on the reel; some sprocket notches; color in 3d section turning pink 655 7 Shorts.|2mim 655 7 Personal/independent films.|2mim 655 7 Animation.|2mim 690 Silent films. 690 German films. 700 1 Fischinger, Oskar,|d1900-1967. 740 01 R-1. 740 01 Colored staffs. 740 01 Circles and squares. 740 01 Regenbogen. 740 01 Color staffs. 935 GLADN50874386 946 PFA 1604-01-795.
