The young rebel rapidly climbs the ladder of anti-capitalist success until he finds himself atop a small revolutionary empire. Gradually he becomes a despot; in love with his own authority. Several interludes occur, including one in which a woman serves him a cat for dinner after he reads a Playboy magazine. Eventually his megalomaniacal dictatorship grows out of control, and he masterminds an ill-fated plan to rob a bank.
