Writing poems and making films were, for Broughton, simply two different ways of creating images with feeling. Broughton gained notoriety as a filmmaker after collaborating with Sidney Peterson on The Potted Psalm in 1946, and he went on to make many films throughout his remaining years. He is known for his lyrical, celebratory style of dealing with everyday life, the body, and sexuality, and for blending poetry with film. He published books on film, as well as books of poems, and taught at the San Francisco Art Institute. 538 DVD; NTSC; all regions; stereo. 590 PFA 0230-01-14052. |aCONDITION NOTE: Last checked: 2010/02 /04 Excellent condition. 600 10 Broughton, James,|d1913-1999|vInterviews. 650 0 Experimental films|xProduction and direction. 650 0 Erotic films|xProduction and direction. 650 0 Musical films|xProduction and direction. 655 7 Television.|2mim 655 7 Talk shows.|2mim 655 7 Documentaries and factual works.|2mim 700 1 Broughton, James,|d1913-1999. 700 1 Gardner, Robert,|d1925-2014 710 2 WCVB-TV (Television station : Boston, Mass.) 710 2 Studio 7 Arts (Firm) 710 2 Documentary Educational Resources (Firm) 730 02 Loony Tom, the happy lover (Motion picture : 1951) 730 02 This is it (Motion picture : 1971) 730 02 Water circle (Motion picture : 1975) 730 02 Windowmobile (Motion picture : 1977) 730 02 Testament (Motion picture : 1974) 856 41 |uhttp://www.der.org/films/screening-room-james- broughton.html|zConnect to materials related to this title online 856 41 |zConnect to materials related to this title online 946 PFA 0230-01-14052.
