520 This is the last film of William S. Hart. Tumbleweeds is
the story of the great land rush of 1889 when the Cherokee
Land Strip between Oklahoma and Kansas was opened to
homesteaders. It is the story of the homesteaders, full of
hope as they prepare to start life anew; the greed of the
"sooners", who sneak illegally into the Strip to establish
claims ahead of the legitimate homesteaders; and it is the
story of the end of the Old West and the cowboy way of
life.
