Chief), Charlotte Mineau (The Mother).
520 Charlie stands outside a saloon door playing a violin with
his left hand. A brass band plays outside another door to
the saloon. When he is finished playing, Charlie walks
into the bar, hat in hand, asking for donations. He is
ignored while the men inside the bar applaud the band
outside. The bandleader enters, hat in hand, and is given
money from the men inside. Charlie competes, and manages
to get some small change from a patron. Furious, the
bandleader hits him and a fight ensues. Men flee. The band
members chase Charlie in a circle in and out of the
saloon. Charlie hides by a door while the band runs past,
then slinks back into the now-empty bar and steals a shot
of whiskey. He then leaves, and the band and men re-enter
the bar.
