520 Brice Howard discusses with a group of students the video
work, Irving Bridge, made by painter William Gwin and
composer Warner Jepson, both NCET affiliates. Howard
proposes this video as an example of electronic flow as
the working material for the composition. Irving Bridge is
a 48 minute work whose subject is the Irving Bridge in
Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. Working with images of
the bridge, trees, reflections of light in water, Gwin
overlays and video processes them to create slowly
evolving abstract video paitnings. The program was made
with the participation and assistance of students and
staff, Department of Mass Communications, Southern
Illinois University at Edwardsville.
