520 In this parody of educational films, Segalove applies her
disarmingly personal, humorous approach to the serious
subject of business (capitalism, money-making,
consumerism). As the unseen narrator, Segalove sets a
satirical tone. She conducts brief interviews with
business people that take on the appearance of deadpan
comedy routines within the context of the tape. The humor
and irreverence bely serious concerns at the tape's core:
the dehumanizing effects of work, the power of money, the
fear of evaluating one's worth, and lack of trust in the
business world.
