Behind the Experiments: Film and Video Artists Speak
Leslie Thornton: Thursday, November 1, 7:30 p.m., BAM Museum Theater
Admission Free
Behind the Experiments, a series of mini–residencies by media artists, offers an exciting opportunity for public dialogue with important contemporary experimentalists. The series commences this October with the arrival of East Coast experimental filmmaker Leslie Thornton. Widely known for her epic sci–fi serial Peggy and Fred in Hell, Thornton will be at PFA on October 30 at 7:30 to screen recent works (program described in our September–October issue), then on November 1, in a casual workshop setting, will meet with aspiring film artists and aficionados in the Museum Theater. Screenings are regular PFA admission; workshops are free to the public.
We regret that filmmaker Stan Brakhage will not be in attendance for the programs on November 13 and 14, as previously scheduled. If you have already purchased your ticket for November 13 and would like a refund, we are happy to accommodate you. In place of the November 14 Artist Workshop, we will present a free screening of a selection of Brakhage's short films. His trip has tentatively been rescheduled for March 12, 2002.
