SCHEDULE: Rainer Werner Fassbinder's Berlin Alexanderplatz is a film divided into thirteen parts and an epilogue. Berlin Alexanderplatz will be screened in its entirety twice: This weekend, in Wheeler Auditorium on the UC Berkeley Campus, Parts I through VII will be shown on Saturday and Parts VIII through Epilogue will be shown on Sunday. The film will be repeated at PFA (in the University Art Museum Theater) in two- and three-part afternoon screenings beginning Monday, February 14 and ending Sunday, February 20. After the Epilogue on February 20, a discussion to which all are invited will be led by Professors Anthony Kaes and Eric Rentschler.
ADMISSION: Tickets for the Wheeler Auditorium screenings are $6.50 per day or $10.00 for the weekend.
Tickets for the PFA Screenings are $2.00 per day or $10.00 for the series.
Advance tickets are available for both the Wheeler Auditorium and the PFA screenings. They may be purchased at the PFA Box Office, evenings, or the PFA Business Office during business hours. Tickets are also available at the door.
FOOD (Wheeler Program): Snacks--bagels, cookies coffee, tea, etc. will be available at Wheeler Auditorium both Saturday and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., catered by the Swallow Restaurant. The Oski-mobile will also stop at Wheeler from 3:20 to 3:50.
Dinner--The Swallow Restaurant will be open for dinner both evenings. Reservations are suggested (phone 841-2409). The Swallow is located at the Durant Avenue entrance to the University Art Museum.
PARKING (Wheeler Program): All-day parking is available on campus on Saturdays and Sundays free of charge (with some restricted areas at East Gate).
