Claude Goretta and Alain Tanner were two Swiss filmmakers who achieved international recognition in the early 1970s. A recent film by each is included in the series New Swiss Cinema, which begins July 7 with Goretta's The Girl from Lorraine. Tanner's Light Years Away is presented July 27.
