Evan Variano on Viktor Schauberger’s Drawings of Water Turbines and Impellers

Lunchtime Talk

UC Berkeley ssociate professor of civil and environmental engineering Evan Variano’s research interests include designing devices to remove sediment from water supplies in resource-limited environments, and predicting the effects of water management changes in the Florida Everglades. These projects involve transport and mixing of flows that can also be seen in the drawings and models of Schauberger, the late nineteenth-century Austrian forester, naturalist, and inventor.
