Gallery Talk: Juana Berrío on Ron Nagle

Juana Berrío, an independent curator and writer, presents perspectives on Ron Nagle’s ceramic sculptures through the lenses of painting and music. She will focus on how Nagle’s use of color, texture, and rhythm inflects his distinctively emotional and humorous compositions.

Berrío has worked at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis and the New Museum in New York, and on the 2013 Venice Biennale. In 2014, she cofounded and directed Kiria Koula, a gallery, bookstore, and programming space in San Francisco. She has contributed essays to Frog Magazine, Bielefelder Kunstverein, SFMOMA’s Open Space, the New Museum’s Six Degrees, the Kadist Foundation, Dos, and Look Lateral, among others.
