Healing Voice of Deep Release with Odeya Nini

Los Angeles–based interdisciplinary vocalist, composer, vocal embodiment coach, and sound meditation practitioner Odeya Nini offers a workshop and sound bath that begins with a vocal embodiment practice and then relaxes into a sound meditation. We will gather and explore our voice with an emphasis on the deep low tones and feel our sounds in community, in connection, and in relation to one another and to something greater that flows through us.

Nini believes that the meeting point of invisible vibration and audible sound is where the traveling waves of energy are felt as the voice. Our whole self seems to both leap outward in an act of release and also swirl within like a clearing wind storm. May we be in the practice of letting our sound transform us and being a vessel for its currents of love.

Odeya Nini is a Los Angeles–based interdisciplinary vocalist, composer, vocal embodiment coach, and sound meditation practitioner. Her solo vocal work extends the dimension and expression of the voice and body, creating a sonic and physical panorama of silence to noise and tenderness to grandeur. She has performed internationally, from concert halls to caves, and is a member of the Grammy-nominated ensemble Wild Up. Nini’s work has been presented at venues and festivals across the United States and world—from Los Angeles to Australia, Mongolia, Madagascar, and Vietnam—such as the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Merkin Concert Hall, Broad Museum, Pulitzer Foundation, and MONA. Her latest album, ODE, was recognized by the New Yorker as a notable recording of 2022 . She is the founder of Free the Voice and leads vocal sound meditations, workshops, and retreats exploring the transformative and healing qualities of embodying the voice.
