Ingmar Bergman at Work

  • Illustrated Lecture

Jon Wengström is curator of the archival film collections at the Svenska Filminstitutet, Stockholm.

As a special feature of our Bergman 100 celebrations, BAMPFA welcomes film archivist Jon Wengström, who in his role at the Svenska Filminstitutet helps preside over and care for the history of Swedish cinema. Wengström will set up each clip and share details about these rarities that feature Ingmar Bergman as a film director on set, including his collaboration with Ingrid Bergman on Autumn Sonata; interacting with the principal actors on Through a Glass Darkly and Hour of the Wolf; and documentation from the making of Wild Strawberries depicting Bergman and the legendary Victor Sjöström.
