. Toya L. Groves is a lifelong teacher and writer who currently works with formerly incarcerated students at Laney College in Oakland, California. She holds a BA in African American studies from UC Berkeley, a MA in Women’s Spirituality from Sofia University, and an MFA in Creative Writing from Mills College. Darius Simpson is a writer, educator, and performer. He believes poetry belongs to and with the masses, and he aims to inspire those chills that make you frown and slightly twist up your face in approval.
