Vishaan Chakrabarti in Conversation with Darren Walker

In this webinar, Vishaan Chakrabarti, new dean of UC Berkeley’s College of Environmental Design, joins Darren Walker, president of the Ford Foundation, for a conversation about the relationship of the arts and design to questions of equity and systemic racism.

Chakrabarti is a professor of architecture, an architect, and founder of the New York–based firm Practice for Architecture and Urbanism. In 2018, he was named a fellow of the American Institute of Architects.

In addition to being president of the $13-billion international social-justice philanthropy the Ford Foundation, Walker is a member of Governor Andrew Cuomo’s Reimagining New York Commission and cochair of New York City’s Mayoral Advisory Commission on City Art, Monuments, and Markers. He also chaired the philanthropy committee that brought a resolution to the city of Detroit’s historic bankruptcy.

This event is presented by UC Berkeley’s College of Environmental Design.
