The People of the Po is a documentary on the villages on the banks of the Po River. Sanitation Department is a day in the life of Rome’s street cleaners, filmed chronologically from dawn to dusk. In Lies of Love, the ordinary lives of the stars of the fumetti—photographed comic strips—are contrasted with their public images to humorous effect. Superstition catalogs illegal superstitious practices in a small village in the Marches. The Villa of Monsters is a film of monstrous sculpted human figures in the park of an ancient villa. In Suicide Attempt, a segment from the neorealist omnibus Love in the City, Antonioni interviews three would-be suicides for love. And other films.
