Join Berkeley Arts + Design and the Department of Art Practice as we celebrate Art21 Season 9, featuring UC Berkeley Art Practice Professor Stephanie Syjuco and Alum Lynn Hershman Leeson. Now in its ninth season, Art in the Twenty-First Century is the longest-running contemporary art series anywhere, presenting unprecedented access to the greatest creative minds of our time. We will welcome two of Season 9's twelve innovators in visual art through three geographic foci—in Berlin, Johannesburg, and the San Francisco Bay Area.

The evening's program will consist of a screening of Season 9 highlights, followed by a conversation with Stephanie Syjuco and Lynn Hershman Leeson. On this festive evening, we will focus especially on how Berkeley and the Bay Area have shaped Syjuco's and Leeson's teaching and practice.
