Abigail De Kosnik: New Archives

Available to the general public as livestream only. UC Berkeley students may attend in person with valid Cal One ID.

New human expressions need to be archived in new ways. The way books are stored is not a good model for storing, for example, TV series or fan fiction. Join Abigail De Kosnik as she explains how new media create the need for archives and how archives are creative works in their own right and form a foundation for collective action and social innovation.

De Kosnik is an associate professor of performance studies in UC Berkeley’s Department of Theater, Dance, and Performance Studies, as well as the faculty director of the Berkeley Center for New Media.
