Since 1992, ARTE, a French-German cultural channel known for its innovative and challenging television programs, has played an active role in Europe's ongoing social and political integration. Through a broad array of programming embracing both high and popular culture, this ambitious media project has crossed aesthetic and intellectual borders, hoping to unify a diverse multilingual audience. PFA's series, ARTE: Television without Borders, spotlights eight feature films and documentaries that exemplify the spirit of a shared European culture.The ARTE tribute is presented in cooperation with The Cultural Services of the French Embassy and the Goethe-Institut, San Francisco.
